Overview

In this role you will advance Baker Tilly's property tax modeling capabilities for public sector clients, delivering scenario analyses and actionable insights on evolving tax laws. You will work closely with the Public Sector & Nonprofit Consulting practice to ensure rigorous analysis, clear client reporting, and cross-team collaboration. The position focuses on translating complex legislative and financial impacts into practical recommendations while supporting business development and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to shape tax analytics for government finances at a national advisory firm with a broad client base.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance the proprietary property tax model and expand scenario modeling
  • Prepare and deliver client reports, analyses, and presentations communicating financial and legislative impacts
  • Analyze proposed property tax legislation and assess financial implications for public sector clients
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop consultants and junior staff
  • Support business development through proposals, conferences, client outreach, and thought leadership
  • Collaborate across the Public Sector & Nonprofit Consulting practice to provide analytical support to other service teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve analytical processes, reporting methodologies, and client solutions through innovation
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data
  • Experience writing reports, preparing findings, and presenting recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build client relationships
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in client-service consulting environment (preferred)
  • Experience with public sector organizations, local government finance, or property tax administration (preferred)
