Overview In this senior role, you will provide strategic leadership for administrative operations across academic departments and centers within the Physician Enterprise. You partner with Department Chairs and Center Directors to align priorities, resources, and governance with institutional goals, while advancing research, academics, and clinical performance. You will shape space, facilities, and infrastructure planning, oversee faculty affairs, and sponsor initiatives that improve care delivery and organizational effectiveness. Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Provide executive leadership for administrative operations across multiple academic departments and centers
- Partner with Department Chairs and Center Directors to align priorities and manage resources, risks, and growth opportunities
- Establish governance structures, operating expectations, and performance measures
- Oversee academic and faculty affairs including research administration, appointments, promotions, mentorship, and compliance
- Direct departmental financial performance across operating budgets, grants, philanthropy, and funding sources
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, integration, and retention of physicians and physician-scientists
- Oversee physician practice performance including access, productivity, quality, billing, APP utilization, and clinical trial accrual
- Sponsor business plans and improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery, program performance, and organizational effectiveness
- Mentor department administrators and foster accountability and collaboration
- Guide space, facilities, technology, and infrastructure planning to support growth
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, science, or related field
- 11+ years of business management experience in academic research or healthcare
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible management experience
- Experience with budget development, grant management, space planning, and personnel management
- Strong knowledge of management and accounting principles in research/medical/healthcare
- Ability to analyze complex administrative/financial data and develop effective solutions
- Proven ability to lead across multiple management layers and influence senior leaders
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and ensure follow-through
- Master's degree, MBA, or MHA preferred
