Overview As a Project Manager at Mortenson, you drive project quality, schedule, and safety while mentoring the team and strengthening client relationships. You will oversee financial health, subcontracting, and invoicing, ensuring on-time payments and accurate billings. You'll manage trade partner selections, coordinate with owners and on-site teams, and shepherd projects from start to completion. Responsibilities- Oversee overall project financial health, including subcontracts and suppliers
- Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate estimates in financial systems
- Approve invoices, provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment
- Prepare monthly owner billings and manage contract-related billings and buyouts
- Manage budget for trade partners and suppliers
- Lead/Manage assistants and engineers, assign work, and support career development
- Approve on-site timecards and provide performance feedback
- Serve as primary contact with owner/onsite representatives, review owner agreements, and resolve site concerns
- Execute/Manage change orders and coordinate approvals with owner/architect
- Maintain schedule and budget through project completion, ensuring quality, risk, safety, and compliance
- Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Key requirements- Six or seven years of construction management or related experience (depending on PM level)
- Current driver's license
- Ability to travel up to 100%
- Proven ability to manage complex projects
- Detail-oriented with ability to organize multiple tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices
- Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and web applications
- Ability to interpret Mortenson policies
- Active listening and effective communication, including openness to diverse input
