Overview

In this analytical chemist role, you will develop and optimize methods to measure purity, potency, and quality attributes of small molecule substances and intermediates. You'll apply HPLC, GC, NMR, and MS to support chemical process development and bridge lab work to GMP manufacturing. You'll collaborate with chemists and engineers to enable data-driven decisions and ensure transferability to routine testing. This position offers hands-on discovery with real impact on drug development and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize analytical methods to quantify purity, potency, and quality attributes of small molecule drugs and intermediates.
  • Select and implement analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS) to support process development and elucidate reaction mechanisms and impurities.
  • Assess stability under stressed conditions and evaluate degradation using chromatographic methods.
  • Collaborate with synthetic chemists and process engineers to ensure methods are suitable for GMP transfer and manufacturing support.
  • Maintain safety and technical rigor in lab activities and adhere to policies.
  • Identify new concepts, demonstrate problem-solving, and contribute across multiple projects.
  • Communicate findings clearly, articulating technical and business implications to project teams.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field
  • Experience with chromatographic method development or validation (LC, GC, IC) in pharmaceutical or regulated environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States full-time; employer will not sponsor work visas
