Overview In this role, you will lead computational analyses and visualization of omics data to advance immuno-oncology research within CEPIO. You'll work both with a cross-disciplinary team and independently to handle transcriptomics, proteomics, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial omics, and CRISPR datasets, ensuring rigor and accessible results. The position sits in the Hongbo Chi lab and focuses on iTARGETS, a translational immuno-oncology initiative. This is an opportunity to shape computational pipelines, drive analyses, and contribute to cutting-edge pediatric cancer research at a world-class institution.
Responsibilities- Perform statistical analyses and algorithm implementations on diverse biotech datasets
- Design and deliver training materials on bioinformatics software and data analysis
- Act as a liaison between end-users, software developers, and departments
- Establish protocols, SOPs, and evaluate/ recommend solutions
- Lead development and maintenance of databases and data collection pipelines
- Develop programs to assist data analysis within databases
- Coordinate cross-department projects and delegate tasks by priority
- Oversee quality control of analysis results
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant post-degree work in bioinformatics/related field; or Master's with 4+ years; or PhD with no experience
- Experience in at least one programming language and one statistical package (R preferred)
- Strong background in transcriptomics, proteomics, functional genomics or spatial omics
- Experience analyzing NGS data including CRISPR screens, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, spatial transcriptomics
- Hands-on Linux and HPC experience for large-scale data processing
- Excellent problem-solving, data management, and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI is a plus
