Overview

In this role you ensure quality, safety, and technical accuracy across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical lab processes in select departments. You act as a subject-matter expert and collaborate with IT and LIS teams to solve complex issues. The position supports patient care in a 24/7 clinical lab environment and requires effective communication with diverse patients and healthcare teams. You contribute to lab operations under the guidance of the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor and align with safety and quality standards. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape laboratory practice and cross-functional collaboration in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure operational, quality, and technical accuracy across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures in specific lab departments
  • Serve as subject matter expert and troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • Collaborate with IT and LIS analysts regularly to support laboratory information systems
  • Perform duties as outlined by the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor and related job descriptions
  • Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and families during special procedures
  • Adhere to safety requirements in laboratory and hospital settings
  • Contribute to patient care and cross-functional collaboration across clinical teams
Key requirements
  • Nevada General Supervisor license (Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Histotechnologist) within 7 months of hire
  • Current state license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Histotechnologist
  • National certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Histotechnologist (ASCP) or equivalent; ASCP Specialist Certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Clinical Laboratory Science experience in the area of oversight; 5 years preferred
  • English proficiency; ability to read, write, and speak effectively
  • Proficiency with computers and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
  • Ability to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days
  • Knowledge of safety requirements in lab and hospital settings
