Overview In this role you will develop and execute fuel margin plans to grow the customer base and maximize profitability. You will lead cross-functional efforts across pricing, contracts, and marketing programs to drive fuel contribution at store level. You'll manage supplier and carrier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee the fuels team to ensure competitive performance. The role sits at the heart of Circle K's fuel strategy, aligning with broader store and division objectives. You'll work with analytics to forecast margins and guide capital improvements that boost overall store profitability.
Responsibilities- Establish and meet fuel margin targets; model growth of customer base
- Develop strategies to maximize fuel margin and oversee pricing consistency at site/product level
- Analyze market conditions, margins, sales volumes, and competitive activity to meet profit targets
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends
- Develop and manage all fuel strategies (site, market, product, brand, division) including supplier and carrier relationships and major brand marketing programs
- Hire, develop and train the fuel team
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers and terminals/pipelines to secure best contracts
- Negotiate fuel contracts with vendors and communicate terms as required
- Coordinate fuels objectives with other departments to optimize store performance
- Control Fuels Department budget; analyze projections, schedule expenditures, review variances, and implement corrective actions
- Recommend capital improvements to maximize fuel contribution to store profitability
- Develop and implement payment system initiatives including fleet card sales and administration
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, accounting or related field preferred
- Two (2) years petroleum industry experience required including management responsibility
- Strong managerial and leadership competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with knowledge to develop and use other software tools
