Overview In this role you will deliver direct patient care across the UTMB health system, performing surgeries and inpatient/outpatient services while contributing to teaching, CME, and departmental activities. You'll participate in training, supervise trainees, and serve on committees to support UTMB's clinical, educational, and scholarly mission. The position supports growth in general urology and, for fellowship-trained candidates, subspecialty development. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve patient access and outcomes, aligning with UTMB's threefold mission.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care including surgery, consultations, outpatient and inpatient services
- Participate in all teaching activities (conferences, bedside teaching, rounds) and supervise trainees
- Engage in CME and academic programs and health system/department committees
- Supervise and evaluate residents; provide medical direction; participate in committee work at departmental and health system levels
- Support administrative responsibilities and program development, including potential subspecialty initiatives
Key requirements- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Urology Surgery
- Texas Medical license without restrictions
- Graduate of an approved medical school; completed residency
- Fellowship in Urology (general with subspecialty options for some roles)
- Texas licensure without restrictions
