Overview As a Machine Learning User Research Scientist in Exponent's Data Sciences Practice, you will drive global data collection programs to build ML-ready datasets and support client projects in consumer electronics. You'll lead interdisciplinary teams, develop data analysis and visualization tools, and ensure rigorous study design and execution. Responsibilities- Plan and execute global data collection efforts for ML datasets
- Provide operational support for prototype hardware and software systems, including validation and troubleshooting
- Lead ad hoc interdisciplinary teams across Data Sciences, Human Factors, Health Sciences, and Engineering Sciences
- Develop data analysis and visualization tools for project management, demographics, and human-centered data
- Maintain and grow client relationships
Key requirements- Ph.D. in relevant fields
- Ability to derive insights from ambiguous questions using data
- Experience in one or more: advanced sensing technology, networking data analysis and visualization, user research studies, programming in Python/Java/Perl/MATLAB
- Instrumentation, data acquisition and processing experience
- Machine learning dataset design or optimization
- Dynamic system modeling and control
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
