Overview In this Insurance Risk Manager role, you protect and grow Origis Energy's renewable projects by shaping risk, insurance, and coverage strategy. You will act as a subject-matter expert for project development, construction, and operations across solar and BESS initiatives. You will collaborate with legal, procurement, and finance to ensure compliant, cost-effective risk management. This is a hands-on, strategic position with a clear impact on project success and financial stability.

Responsibilities- Develop and balance risk philosophy to optimize coverage and cost
- Oversee claims processing and resolution across project and corporate levels
- Provide risk and insurance advice to internal teams and leadership
- Maintain accuracy of insurance documents, binders, endorsements, renewals, and audits
- Coordinate renewals, mid-term changes, and potential self-insured plans
- Develop corporate and project insurance budgets
- Manage brokers, insurers, and stakeholder relationships; onboard carriers and establish NDAs
- Participate in due diligence for M&A related to insurance and risk
- Collaborate with legal and procurement on insurance in contracts; train legal on insurance provisions
- Represent insurance matters to lenders and equity financiers; ensure compliance
- Oversee property, liability, financial lines, and surety insurance programs
- Prepare reports and proposals for management and development teams
- Verify counterparty compliance with contractual insurance obligations
Key requirements- 4+ years in progressive insurance or risk management roles
- In-depth knowledge of insurance requirements for renewable energy (solar and storage) and project financing advantageous
- Experience with commercial property & casualty and construction insurance
- MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with claims handling and insurance recoveries
- BS and/or BA; MBA preferred
- Risk management designations (e.g., CPCU / ARM) preferred
- Experience with renewables markets is preferred
