Overview As Construction Project Manager you will administer SUNY campus construction from start to closeout, managing consultants and contractors to ensure timely, compliant project delivery. You will support budget monitoring, document reviews, and code compliance while coordinating on-site meetings and field inspections. The role blends hands-on project oversight with cross-team collaboration to advance SUNY building and infrastructure goals. Responsibilities- Coordinate on-site project meetings and quarterly progress reviews
- Conduct periodic job site inspections
- Maintain comprehensive project records
- Process change orders, field orders, ECAs and payment applications
- Assist in issue resolution and interface with campus representatives
- Review design and construction documents for code compliance and constructability
- Manage close-out tasks and assist with final inspections and occupancy/compliance certificates
- Provide design-phase assistance as required
- Travel within New York State, including overnight stays, as needed
Key requirements- Associates degree with 10 years of experience (professional license may substitute for 3 years)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with 10 years of experience (license may substitute for 5 years)
- 15 years experience with a professional license
- Working knowledge of Building Codes of New York State
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fundamental understanding of construction practices and management procedures
- Ability to read contract documents
- Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office and SUCF project management applications
