Overview Senior Estimator at Stantec leads multi-discipline cost estimates for mining and mineral processing projects worldwide. You will coordinate estimators, schedules, and design teams to deliver accurate capital estimates from $1M to $10B+. You'll drive studies from early feasibility to execution, shaping large-scale mining and infrastructure programs. Responsibilities- Supervise development of multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules
- Lead large mining studies and program-level estimating efforts (PEA, PFS, FS, execution-stage, sustaining capital)
- Develop detailed estimates for mining, process plant, civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, tailings, water management, and site infrastructure
- Coordinate input from estimating disciplines and validate material takeoffs
- Prepare estimate execution plans and labor-force work plans
- Coordinate and compile information from all disciplines into a single cost estimate
- Provide quality control of documents and suggest design improvements
- Support procurement, supplier, and subcontractor pricing; assist with change and claims valuation
- Interface with management and clients to ensure scope alignment and defensible estimates
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and apply lessons learned to improve estimate quality
Key requirements- 10+ years in estimating and construction roles
- Experience leading mining and mineral processing cost estimates
- Multi-discipline estimating experience across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, etc.
- Bachelor in Engineering or related field; mining engineering preferred
- Field/contractor-side estimating or preconstruction experience preferred
- Professional credentials in estimation/construction (asset)
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
