Overview In this role you will lead multiple capital projects across transmission and substation environments, guiding them from planning through turnover. You'll collaborate with engineering, construction, and project controls to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery that supports critical energy infrastructure. You'll work in a highly cross-functional team with exposure to internal stakeholders and external contractors, tackling execution challenges and risk management. This position offers hands-on site involvement and meaningful impact on project outcomes and safety. You will drive project performance and stakeholder alignment across the full lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead multiple projects from planning and design through construction, startup, commissioning, turnover, and closeout
- Own performance across scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, risk, and stakeholder communication
- Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, project controls, estimating, supply chain, EHS, QA/QC, operations, and external contractors
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, reporting, risk plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal resources to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Lead project meetings, status reviews, kickoff meetings, and stakeholder communications
- Monitor costs and schedules using Primavera P6, EcoSys, PowerPlant, Maximo, or similar platforms
- Support procurement, contracting, equipment selection, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor progress and address execution challenges
- Maintain focus on safety, environmental requirements, quality, and project controls throughout execution
Key requirements- 4+ years of project management experience in capital, construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Experience with electric utility transmission or substation projects preferred
- Strong understanding of scope, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, risk management, and construction execution
- Experience coordinating engineering, construction, contractors, vendors, project controls, and other stakeholders
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools
- Exposure to EcoSys, PowerPlant, Maximo or similar project controls platforms
- Willingness to work in office and active project-site environments
- Ability to travel 20% and drive to regional project sites
- Strong communication and leadership skills for matrixed teams
