Overview In this role you will help shape high-performance AI training and inference hardware at scale within AWS. You'll define server architectures with EC2 alignment, drive end-to-end validation, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams. The role emphasizes delivering scalable, secure cloud hardware while continuously improving reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities- Partner with EC2 to define server architectures based on workload demand
- Translate architectures into detailed designs and component specs for high-performance AI at scale
- Lead validation strategies from PCBA bring-up to rack integration (performance, thermal, mechanical, power, signal)
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and manufacturing partners through development and production
- Triage hardware issues at ODMs and datacenters, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions
- Oversee fleet performance post-launch, monitor quality metrics, and pursue continuous improvement
- Interface with internal customers to capture requirements and translate them into technical specs
- Collaborate with vendors and ODM/JDM teams to scale manufacturing and ensure quality throughout the lifecycle
- Learn operational challenges of the existing fleet to improve future designs
Key requirements- 7+ years of equivalent experience
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
- Experience in server technologies (thermal, mechanical, power, signal integrity)
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years in design/innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process, or related fields
- Experience leading process improvement, systems development, and project management
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- In-depth expertise in server technologies such as thermal/mechanical design, high-speed bus design, signal integrity, server components (CPU, GPU, SSDs, memory), BIOS, BMC, and networking
