Overview In this role you will lead sophisticated employment litigation and advisory work for diverse clients within a national labor and employment practice. You will partner with cross-functional teams to defend single-plaintiff matters and manage PAGA and class actions while advising on federal and state employment laws. Responsibilities- Defend employers in single-plaintiff employment matters (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour)
- Handle PAGA and employment-related class actions
- Manage litigation from inception to resolution (strategy, pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, negotiation)
- Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop proactive workforce and litigation strategies
Key requirements- 9-12 years of substantive labor & employment experience
- Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
- Experience defending single-plaintiff employment matters
- Experience handling PAGA actions and employment class actions
- Drafting and arguing pleadings, discovery, dispositive and discovery motions
- Deposition experience (plaintiff and corporate witnesses)
- Knowledge of federal and California employment laws and regulations
- Modest portable book of business preferred but not required
- Ability to independently manage matters from assessment to resolution
