Overview In this Senior Designer, I&C role you will contribute to capital projects by designing I&C deliverables and leading a team of designers. You'll work with licensed engineers, cross-functional teams, and clients to ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant solutions for industrial facilities. You'll mentor peers, develop detailed wiring and network schedules, and support field start-up and on-site activities. Responsibilities- Support capital projects individually and in teams to implement client solutions
- Design panels, planview drawings, BIM models for industrial facilities
- Train and mentor less experienced professionals in standards and best practices
- Exhibit leadership to manage a design team through project execution
- Develop IO wire pull schedules, conduit, wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and cable tray sizing
- Develop Network cable pull schedule
- Create construction drawings for I&C deliverables (P&IDs, panels, installation details, schematics, connection diagrams)
- Interpret and apply industry codes and hazardous area classification for electrical equipment
- Develop specifications and review vendor submittals
- Provide on-site assessment, construction support, and start-up support
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across multiple offices
- Contribute to client relationships and project outcomes with a results-driven mindset
Key requirements- Minimum eight years of relevant experience
- Experience with industrial facility projects emphasizing quality, cost effectiveness, and safety
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Technical competency in Instrumentation and control systems, panel design, etc.
- Proficiency in calculations for wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, cable tray sizing and fill
- Experience in design criteria and specification preparation for I&C equipment
- Skills in instrument selection, datasheets, IO lists, cable schedules, and instrument/valve indexes
- Experience designing wiring and conduit drawings using AutoCAD and 3D modeling in Revit
- Ability to develop construction drawings and review work packages
- Understanding of digital communication protocols and inter-system cross-communication
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with management, clients, and vendors
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Revu Bluebeam
- Willingness to travel for project requirements and site activities
