Overview In this role, you will lead heavy civil paving operations to deliver high-quality asphalt and concrete projects on schedule and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and crews to ensure safety, execution, and regulatory compliance. You drive planning, resource allocation, and on-site monitoring to keep projects on track. The opportunity centers on shaping reliable paving programs and mentoring field teams in best practices. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining client satisfaction and project success through hands-on leadership and clear communication.
Responsibilities- Manage and supervise all paving operations on site with emphasis on safety and quality
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet timelines
- Review project plans and specifications to understand requirements
- Oversee scheduling and allocation of labor and equipment for paving activities
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
- Provide training and guidance to crew members on paving and safety practices
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to address scope changes or concerns
Key requirements- Proven experience as a Paving Superintendent or similar in heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction
- A Civil Engineering degree or related field is preferred but not required
