Overview In this role you drive and oversee projects from planning to closeout within a matrix team, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-conscious delivery. You'll align with cross-functional stakeholders to enable sound business decisions and customer satisfaction, while fostering continuous improvement to boost quality and value. You'll work in a mission-driven environment focused on safety, reliability, and performance, shaping project outcomes and operations. This is a hands-on position with growing leadership scope and impact on enterprise projects.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate project activities
- Coordinate and perform administrative tasks as delegated
- Act on behalf of lead PM when needed
- Implement Waterfall or Agile methodologies in projects
- Ensure safety and Zero Harm in the work environment
- Develop and manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff
- Lead planning meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders
- Develop relationships with internal/external customers, partners, and vendors
- Provide guidance to improve design, systems, and costs
- Assist or lead project management activities and team development
- Manage procurement plans and contracts with outside services
- Conduct project closeout and evaluate success against objectives
- Align projects with AEP PM standards and governance
- Demonstrate integrity and accountability in project work
- Support field operations and project delivery across sites
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in project management within a production environment
- Knowledge of project management processes, cost estimating, contracting, and controls
- Ability to lead or assist in project management activities and mentor others
- Effective communication and stakeholder management
- Willingness to travel up to 25% (variable)
