Overview

In this role you drive utility coordination for large Design and Build highway projects, guiding a multidisciplinary team of consultants and owners. You shape utility design, cost and schedule planning, and relocation work to minimize conflicts and keep projects on track. You will liaise with utility owners, design disciplines, and the client agency to ensure compliant, timely utility solutions. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with utility consultants and owners to deliver tender designs and resolve conflicts
  • Lead utility design coordination meetings and document decisions, minutes, and agendas
  • Develop engineer's estimates for utility relocations and for construction schedules
  • Manage and optimize utility conflicts using the Utility Conflict Matrix and implement cost-effective relocation strategies
  • Oversee utility permits, budgets, and contract compliance across design to construction
  • Prepare and maintain utility maps, reports, and status exhibits for the project
  • Review easement documentation and support property interest decisions for utility work
  • Coordinate with design disciplines and TD Manager to minimize conflicts and align schedules
  • Serve as liaison between utility owners, relocation coordinators, and the Georgia Department of Transportation
  • Establish and update utility design and construction sequences and manage Utility Management Plans
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or MEP
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience coordinating complex utility adjustments on highway Design and Build projects
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a problem-solving mindset
