Overview In this role, you will lead our Civil Precon department to produce competitive cost estimates for paving projects. You'll guide bid processes for public and private work, leverage value engineering, and mentor junior estimators to strengthen preconstruction capabilities. Your work supports winning projects and delivering accurate, timely bids. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve estimating templates and tools, shaping how we win and execute work.

Responsibilities- Analyze drawings and specs to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects
- Identify labor, materials, and time requirements from proposals and plans
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Prepare bid packages and present estimates to senior management
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Provide value engineering recommendations
- Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates/tools
- Mentor junior estimators and drive process improvements
Key requirements- 5+ years of civil estimating experience
- Proven track record with excavation, paving, grading, etc
- Proficiency with Excel and estimating tools; experience with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK preferred but not required
- Excellent communication, client development, and negotiation skills
