Overview As Senior Commissioning Authority at DLR Group's Smart Buildings team, you lead commissioning across multiple high-profile projects to ensure peak performance from Day One. You'll manage a commissioning team, collaborate with architects and engineers, and guide testing and performance analytics. The role offers travel and rapid growth as the team expands. Responsibilities- Lead commissioning activities across all project phases with multiple trades and client management
- Review design and construction documents for compliance with Owner's Project Requirements and Basis of Design
- Oversee the implementation of commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance tests
- Provide subject matter expertise on how system performance is affected
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Meet with potential clients, develop relationships, and present commissioning services value
- Mentor and train junior staff to build a cohesive commissioning team
Key requirements- 15+ years of hands-on commissioning building systems experience
- Strong knowledge of building design/construction and commissioning for new builds, major renovations, and existing buildings
- Deep understanding of energy use, indoor environmental quality, operations, and maintenance in commissioning
- Technical expertise in MEP and building automation systems with ability to evaluate/test performance
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong organizational and computer skills
- Commissioning certification from a recognized body (ACG, BCA, or ASHRAE)
- Self-direction and time management to keep projects on schedule and budget
