Overview In this role you will lead and contribute to highway projects from planning through PS&E to construction, supporting public-sector clients and mentoring junior staff. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage design quality and project progress, and help bring critical transportation programs to fruition. Responsibilities- Develop highway geometrics, 3D models, drainage, signing and striping, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination
- Plan and design from schematic through PS&E to construction, applying engineering standards
- Perform quality control checks to ensure plans meet design standards and specifications
- Lead or guide a team of engineers and EITs to deliver projects
- Develop quantities, estimates, and construction specifications
- Provide construction support, including plan reviews and contractor responses
- Track project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion
- Participate in business development, client meetings, and proposal preparation
Key requirements- BS in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years' related experience
- PE licensure in TN or ability to obtain within 6 months
- TDOT design experience preferred
- Experience with highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities
- Experience or familiarity with OpenRoads Design (ORD) and/or Geopak
