Overview

As Building Performance & Decarbonization Lead, you drive advanced energy modeling and emissions analytics to support decarbonization for multi-site buildings. You will lead technical scoping, deliver GHG inventories and whole-building simulations, and steer integration of sustainability data platforms. Your role bridges MEP systems, architectural performance, and regulatory requirements to enable data-driven decisions. You'll shape innovative simulation methodologies and collaborate with external partners to advance low-carbon building strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical scoping, planning and delivery of GHG inventories and whole-build energy simulations
  • Translate complex decarbonization legislation into programmatic improvements
  • Evaluate/derive physical feasibility of low-carbon systems and model accuracy
  • Coordinate MEP and envelope performance to optimize operations toward Net Zero/Passive House targets
  • Convert engineering data into sophisticated models and executive-ready analytics
  • Assess and manage sustainability software platforms for large datasets
  • Define technical requirements with digitalization specialists for automated reporting
  • Form strategic R&D partnerships to pioneer simulation methodologies
  • Review project specs to ensure sustainability targets are contractually defined
Key requirements
  • 8+ years in energy simulation, computational design, or auditing in an AEC cross-disciplinary setting
  • Bachelor's in engineering/architectural engineering or related field; professional credential (PE, AIABEMP) preferred; Master's preferred
  • Strong understanding of modern low-carbon solutions to guide technology selections
  • Proven experience with building performance toolsets and high-performance system designs (e.g., PHIUS/Passive House)
  • Experience interpreting energy codes and emissions legislation across portfolios
  • Proficiency with ClimateStudio, EnergyPlus, Grasshopper/Ladybug for automation and large datasets
  • Ability to translate engineering data into standardized executive metrics
  • Experience collaborating with external technical partners on pilots of digital building technologies
