Overview

In this role you work within a leading international law firm's Insurance Coverage Practice Group to analyze complex coverage disputes and advise insurers. You will craft clear coverage opinions and guide litigation strategy across significant matters, including depositions, mediations, and trials. You collaborate with partners and clients, delivering precise policy interpretations and practical recommendations. This position offers exposure to high-profile matters and mentorship in a supportive, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze insurance policies to draft coverage opinions
  • Provide actionable coverage recommendations for clients
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other tools
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
  • Review and analyze document collections in pre-litigation and litigation
  • Communicate directly with domestic and international insurers
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives
Key requirements
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record
  • Law Review or Honors required
  • Active California Bar in good standing (will consider other bars for seasoned candidates)
  • 3+ years of substantive litigation experience focusing on insurance coverage
  • Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
  • Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
  • Experience drafting litigation-related documents
  • Experience participating in depositions and mediations
  • Familiarity with bad faith claims, CGL, property, E&O, D&O
  • Exceptional research and writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
