Project Manager- Waste Water Treatment Plants

Overview

In this role you will lead all phases of wastewater treatment plant construction, driving project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. You will manage contracts, invoices, and client relationships to protect profitability while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will monitor progress, ensure schedules are met, and steer changes with proactive contingency planning. This position offers a chance to shape large-scale water infrastructure projects and deliver tangible, performance-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of the construction project timeline
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and resource identification
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests and maintain client relations
  • Responsible for overall project profit and loss and identify opportunities for profit
  • Coordinate communications between contractor and sub-contractors
  • Conduct site visits, monitor progress, and hold regular status meetings with sub-teams
  • Ensure activities follow predetermined schedules
  • Draft budget proposals and recommend revisions
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and required documentation
  • Collaborate with superintendents to manage scope changes and contingency plans
  • Respond to RFIs and process contract change orders
  • Approve invoices, payroll hours, and manage billing
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications
  • Build and nurture key business relationships critical to project success
  • Provide direction to project engineers, field engineers, and coordinators
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing or supervising junior project engineers
  • At least 5 years building large wastewater treatment facilities or large water tanks
  • At least 5 years reading blueprints and specs for large commercial concrete structures
  • At least 5 years handling inquiries or complaints from customers/regulatory bodies
  • At least 5 years of RFIs, change orders, and submittals experience
