Overview In this role you will support a cross-office litigation team focused on financial services matters, representing broker-dealers and registered representatives in FINRA arbitrations and related proceedings. You will work closely with partners and peers to develop strategic positions and manage complex cases. You'll handle research, briefing, and motion arguments while coordinating discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Responsibilities- Represent broker-dealers and registered representatives in FINRA arbitrations and related proceedings
- Research complex legal issues and draft briefs and memoranda
- Prepare for and participate in motion arguments
- Draft outlines and exhibits for depositions; assist with deposition planning
- Lead trial preparation including direct and cross-examination outlines and exhibits
- Manage case workflows: written discovery, document review and production, and coordination with experts
- Collaborate with cross-office teams and clients to develop case strategy
- Support overall case management and organization to drive favorable outcomes
Key requirements- Experience analyzing issues, researching, and drafting briefs on sophisticated legal issues
- FINRA arbitration experience
- Successful preparation for and participation in motion arguments
- Deposition preparation; taking/defending depositions a plus
- Trial preparation experience with outlines and exhibits
- Strong strategic, analytical, and client-facing abilities
- Case management experience including discovery responses and working with experts
- Law Review/Journal or Moot Court preferred but not required
- Good standing with the California State Bar
- Bar admission in California; other districts preferred but not required
