Overview As Lead Architect for the ServiceNow platform within Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows, you define target-state architectures and guide cross-functional teams to secure, resilient, and observable solutions. You partner with product, engineering, and control stakeholders to enable delivery and govern design decisions, while driving automation and platform health. You'll shape integration patterns, data models, and environment strategy to scale the ServiceNow capability in a regulated, risk-aware environment. Responsibilities- Lead platform and solution architecture for strategic ServiceNow initiatives from discovery to delivery and improvement
- Define target-state architectures, reference designs, and reusable patterns across workflow, data model, CMDB alignment, identity/access, and environment strategy
- Drive architecture governance through design reviews, ADRs, and stakeholder alignment to standards
- Translate non-functional requirements into implementable designs for availability, performance, scalability, security, and observability
- Own integration strategy between ServiceNow and upstream/downstream systems using APIs, events, and scalable middleware
- Identify architectural risks early and propose mitigations and phased roadmaps balancing speed and control
- Collaborate with product, operations, and control partners to manage dependencies and deliver measurable outcomes
- Mentor engineers and architects through design coaching and constructive review
- Champion automation, reusability, and engineering excellence across the ServiceNow delivery lifecycle
- Optimize platform performance and operability via instrumentation, logging/monitoring, capacity planning, and post-incident learnings
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities with human-in-the-loop validation and data-sensitivity awareness
Key requirements- Formal training or certification on infrastructure architecture concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow architecture including data model design, workflows, security roles, and performance
- Ability to define and socialize target-state architectures, integration patterns, and reference designs across multiple teams
- Strong command of API-led and event-driven integration patterns and distributed system design
- Experience designing for non-functional requirements (resiliency, scalability, security, observability, disaster recovery)
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs across scope, risk, operability, cost, and time-to-deliver and guide practical decisions
- Strong stakeholder management and alignment across competing priorities
- Proven track record of producing architecture documentation (ADRs, NFRs, diagrams) for governed delivery
