Overview As Assistant Construction Manager, you will support EPC project delivery by coordinating safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and field activities. You work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, and EPC Team to keep projects on track and compliant, interfacing with clients as needed. You contribute to risk reviews, plans, and subcontractor management, and help prepare documentation, turnover, and closeout deliverables. This role offers exposure to diverse industries and large-scale programs, with a focus on safe, efficient execution and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities- Assist in implementing the Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, and Procurement Plan
- Contribute to negotiation, approval, and execution of contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
- Support mobilization/demobilization planning, permits, bids, and subcontractor pre-qualification
- Manage downstream contract administration (RFI, submittals, meeting minutes, change management, claims mitigation)
- Support cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking
- Prepare status reports on risks, schedule, costs, and cash flows for stakeholders
- Oversee invoicing processes for prime contracts, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Verify insurance, licenses, taxes/duties, and securities per project requirements
- Assist with safety, quality, progress, and financial audits and assessments
- Coordinate materials management, inventory control, receiving, storage, and transport
- Collaborate with Superintendents/Site Managers to ensure compliance with documents, safety, quality, and schedule
- Support turnover documentation, recordkeeping, retention, warranties, and closeout
- Assist in developing project labor agreements and onboarding craft supervision
- Analyze crew rates, labor costs, and craft classifications; support staffing and training
- Estimate and manage craft install rates, production rates, and cost metrics
- Manage construction equipment inventory and related costs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain compliance with company policies
Key requirements- Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; 3 years of relevant construction experience (or applicable experience substituted for degree)
- Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
- Analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle large workloads in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water (preferred)
- Knowledge of GAAP basics; valid driving requirements according to company policy
