Overview As Tactical Sourcing Specialist for Metso's North and Central America team, you manage day-to-day sourcing to support orders, quotes, and projects, ensuring supplier competitiveness, material availability, and operational excellence. You collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, and Business Line teams to deliver timely, cost-effective sourcing solutions aligned with business needs. You drive RFQ processes, supplier evaluation, and continuous improvement across the supply base. Responsibilities- Execute tactical sourcing activities to support customer orders, quotations, projects, and other business requirements
- Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs, evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, lead time, and technical requirements
- Collaborate with Market Area Sourcing, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Global Quotation Teams, and Business Line stakeholders
- Execute sourcing strategies through the approved supplier base while ensuring compliance with processes, systems, tools, and policies
- Support supply base development initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Translate business requirements into timely, cost-effective sourcing solutions that meet operational and customer needs
- Identify and communicate sourcing requirements and business needs to Market Area Sourcing and Business Line Sourcing teams
- Drive continuous improvement efforts that strengthen sourcing processes, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration
Key requirements- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing, mining, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
- Strong technical aptitude to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience with SAP ERP and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and procurement best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
