Overview As a Facility Designer at HDR, you will shape project deliverables from concept through construction for transit-related facilities. You will work within a collaborative, employee-owned culture that values inclusion and real-world impact. You will translate client needs into master plans, specifications, and BIM-driven documents, while coordinating design aspects and reviewing RFIs and submittals. You will also perform field observations to ensure accuracy and quality across multiple projects. This role offers meaningful opportunities to influence built environments on a global scale.
Responsibilities- Develop a major portion of project deliverables for facility design
- Lead facility programming, report writing, site master planning, and development of specifications and construction documents
- Select, coordinate, and lay out design elements (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
- Create and use Building Information Modeling (BIM) to produce different document levels
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
- Conduct construction field observations
- Perform other design/engineering tasks as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor in Architecture or Industrial Design or related field
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Working knowledge of LOD 300
