Senior MEP Estimator I - Electrical

Overview

In this role you will lead estimating efforts for large electrical scope projects, coordinating a team of estimators and aligning estimates with margin goals. You will work closely with operations, design partners, and trade partners to ensure complete pricing and robust risk management. The position emphasizes data-driven cost modeling, schedule-aware budgeting, and collaboration across disciplines to drive successful bids. This opportunity lets you shape major projects within a leading builder/developer and EPC firm. You will be visible to leadership, mentoring others while delivering accurate, defendable estimates.

Responsibilities
  • Lead estimate preparation for large projects, organizing teams and schedules
  • Facilitate estimate reviews, assign work, and ensure comprehensive pricing
  • Develop trade partner strategies, bids, and budgets with complete pricing coverage
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to align scope and budgets
  • Conduct quantity surveys, analyze site logistics, and apply cost history
  • Ensure estimates meet margin goals, present margin plans and manage Bid Day
  • Utilize Eos Cortex for cost modeling and value analysis, support design teams
  • Prepare self-performed work scopes with accurate pricing and resource allocation
  • Build relationships with operations, design partners, trade partners, and owners
  • Coach and mentor team members, support software selection and cross-cultural collaboration
Key requirements
  • Nine+ years of construction industry experience
  • Proficiency in using BIM and project documents to quantify work
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, contract types, and risk mitigation
  • Experience with cost modeling, pricing, and large self-performed estimates
  • Ability to manage multiple large projects and lead estimator teams
