Overview As a Cost Control Manager at QTS, you will own construction budgets from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with contracts and cost controls. You'll collaborate with project teams, vendors, and finance to validate change orders and forecast cash flow. You'll drive accuracy in pay applications, budget reconciliation, and change management to support capital projects. Responsibilities- Examine contract documents for compliance with terms and laws
- Evaluate and recommend subcontractor awards and monitor buyout savings
- Verify monthly pay applications and align schedule of values with contracts
- Initiate purchase orders and ensure invoice terms are met
- Forecast cash flows from contractors and reconcile with actuals
- Assess potential change orders and provide substantiated recommendations
- Maintain log of change orders, manage approvals, and coordinate with legal as needed
- Support monthly loan draw process and collect required contractor documentation
- Conduct regular meetings with external and internal teams to review documentation and change status
- Oversee third-party cost auditing or change management teams
- Mentor and develop internal Cost Engineers
Key requirements- Seven or more years of experience in construction or project management
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, financing, or accounting
- Advanced knowledge of construction contract documents and change management
- Proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, diverse team and lead others
