Overview

As AVP, Global Healthcare Product Leader, you will steer the end-to-end product portfolio for Global Healthcare, aligning strategy with underwriting, regulatory, and market needs. You'll lead governance, design policy forms, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, profitable solutions. You'll balance innovation with rigorous controls in a global, matrixed environment. This role offers a strategic platform to shape healthcare product strategy and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Led strategy, governance, and maintenance of the Global Healthcare product portfolio (forms, endorsements, manuscript language, coverage solutions, underwriting tools)
  • Crafted and executed a multi-year product strategy and development roadmap aligned with profitability and market opportunities
  • Served as principal product leader for all Global Healthcare lines to ensure consistency and alignment with underwriting risk appetite
  • Oversaw policy forms, endorsements, and manuscript wording across jurisdictions for regulatory and maintenance needs
  • Designed and managed a structured product governance framework including intake, prioritization, approval, implementation, and documentation
  • Established governance controls, documentation standards, product inventories, versioning, decision logs, and centralized product repository with playbooks and materials
  • Partnered with Global Healthcare Underwriting to translate strategic priorities into actionable product solutions
  • Provided senior product expertise on coverage interpretation, form language, and product applications to underwriting teams
  • Collaborated with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Product Architecture, Operations, Technology, Claims, Risk Control, Underwriting, and Actuarial throughout the lifecycle
  • Ensured regulatory alignment, underwriting requirements, compliance, audit readiness, and enterprise governance in product development
  • Monitored healthcare trends, regulatory developments, and market conditions for timely product modifications
  • Led assessments and responses to emerging exposures (e.g., AI, cyber, telemedicine, digital health, wearable devices)
  • Active member of Global Healthcare Product Board and subcommittees for prioritizing and implementing product initiatives
  • Supported business planning, profitability studies, pricing strategies, and underwriting action plans with product expertise
  • Identified opportunities to improve consistency, governance, speed to market, and risk controls
  • Developed and delivered product training, underwriting guidance, and tools for Global Healthcare teams
  • Evaluated competitors and market trends to differentiate products
  • Led and developed product-development professionals with focus on accountability and succession planning
  • Communicated priorities and implementation plans to senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Performed additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned
Key requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of Medical Professional Liability, General Liability, Excess/ Umbrella Liability products
  • Deep understanding of policy construction, endorsements, manuscript drafting, coverage interpretation, and governance principles
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that drive profitable growth and operational performance
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry dynamics, regulatory developments, and distribution strategies
  • Experience leading complex product-development initiatives from concept to implementation with stakeholder alignment
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with ability to link product decisions to profitability and underwriting results
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Ability to influence and build consensus in a matrixed global organization
  • Advanced leadership with integrity, collaboration, adaptability, and talent development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, underwriting platforms, workflow tools, and product-governance systems
  • Education: Bachelor in Business; Master preferred; professional designations are a plus
  • Healthcare insurance industry experience preferred (Medical Professional Liability)
