Overview

Advanced Systems Administration Specialist to support secure, enterprise-class IT in a defense-focused setting. You will administer, secure, and optimize physical and virtual infrastructures for mission-critical systems. You'll work with a team of engineers and cybersecurity professionals on secure, compliant environments. This role combines hands-on administration with modernization efforts across virtualization, networking, and security. A meaningful opportunity to contribute to high-security programs and evolving tech initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain secure physical and virtual server environments
  • Design, deploy, test, and support new infrastructure and system solutions
  • Provide day-to-day support for classified and secure IT environments
  • Monitor system performance and health across infrastructure
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and patch management
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Implement security controls based on government/industry standards
  • Support networking, virtualization, storage, and enterprise infrastructure
  • Work within change management to upgrade systems and improve infrastructure
  • Support cybersecurity and information assurance compliance efforts
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 3+ years
  • 5+ years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, enterprise IT, or cybersecurity support
  • 3+ years administering Red Hat Linux and/or Windows Server environments
  • 3+ years supporting VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms
  • 3+ years designing, deploying, maintaining secure enterprise infrastructure
  • 2+ years implementing security controls, hardening, remediation, and compliance
  • 2+ years working with STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-171/800-53, CMMC
  • 2+ years vulnerability assessments, patch management, remediation
  • 2+ years supporting backup, DR, business continuity
  • 2+ years troubleshooting complex hardware, software, network, virtualization issues
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving security needs
