Overview As a Senior Estimator at HDR, you will lead the development and review of capital, construction, and service estimates for Waste, Power, and Industrial sectors. You work within cross-discipline crews to produce accurate cost baselines, drive data-driven estimates, and support proposals and training. You'll stay current on market conditions, methodologies, and risk to deliver reliable bids and support project decisions. This role fits HDR's employee-owned, inclusive culture and impact-driven projects across the US.
Responsibilities- Develop and review capital cost, construction, and service estimates for Waste, Power, and Industrial sectors
- Form crews from multiple disciplines and perform quantity takeoffs from designs
- Gather data, manage cost estimate databases, and analyze cost drivers
- Identify problems, make recommendations, and prepare basis and assumptions documentation
- Support training and marketing activities including proposal development
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, construction methodologies, and cost estimating best practices
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years' related experience
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office and construction estimating concepts
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and risk elements
- Intermediate management fundamentals
- Able to lead small project estimates
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available
