Overview

In this Senior Technical Reviewer role within NSF's Nutrition & Wellness Technical Leadership team, you apply expert analytical chemistry and laboratory testing know-how to support NSF/ANSI 173 certification. You act as a trusted technical authority, translating complex science for clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders while shaping scientific development and content. You will drive standards-related leadership and thought leadership, collaborating across functions to deliver rigorous, compliant certification and testing solutions. This role offers an opportunity to influence industry practices and elevate NSF's technical credibility.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as technical SME for NSF's Nutrition & Wellness testing services and NSF/ANSI 173 certification programs, ensuring accreditation compliance
  • Translate scientific concepts and lab capabilities into clear, customer-focused solutions and value propositions
  • Represent NSF as a technical spokesperson at client engagements, conferences, standards committees, and regulatory interactions
  • Collaborate with laboratory, quality, operations, marketing, and cross-functional teams to support service development and external messaging
  • Monitor emerging regulations, trends, and new testing technologies to strengthen offerings
  • Perform technical reviews of products, processes, and certification requirements; support standards development and NSF Joint Committees as needed
  • Mentor and train team members, provide technical guidance, and communicate project updates to leadership
  • Contribute to thought leadership and technical content creation to advance program recognition and industry adoption
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Analytical Chemistry
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the dietary supplement or academic industry
  • In-depth dietary supplement, manufacturing, or formulary experience
  • Master's or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field
  • Commercial or client-facing experience
  • Strong public speaking experience with a technical or scientific focus
  • Experience with accredited schemes or standards; familiarity with ISO17025 and ISO17065
  • Quality management system experience in manufacturing or a laboratory environment
