Overview In this role you will lead preconstruction efforts for complex water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects. You collaborate with design and operations teams to shape accurate estimates and scope, guiding cost, schedules, and risk assessments. You will mentor junior staff and contribute to bid strategy and client discussions. This is a hands-on position at a leading engineering firm where your work supports scalable, design-build execution and mission-critical outcomes.

Responsibilities- Review proposals, drawings and specifications to define scope and cost impact
- Develop project work breakdown structures and complete takeoffs for estimates
- Assist contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors
- Apply construction means and methods, prepare schedules and calculate indirect field and owner's costs
- Collaborate with design teams to determine input for design-build estimates
- Prepare reports and presentations; analyze historical data to inform estimates
- Mentor junior staff and support cross-functional project teams
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or similar
- Proficient in estimating, scheduling, and database software
- Experience with industry estimating tools (Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid) and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, Smartsheet)
- Knowledge of quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, and risk/contingency modeling
- Experience with Deltek Acumen for schedule and cost analyses
