Overview As an Estimator for Next 150 Construction, you help drive accurate take-offs and project estimates for self-perform scopes across multiple regions. You will collaborate with Operations and Preconstruction to support formal proposals and project execution, leveraging a historical cost database and vendor quotes. The role offers growth through Gilbane University training and exposure to preconstruction, project engineering, and management activities. You will contribute to safe, on-time project delivery through disciplined estimating. This position provides flexible location near Gilbane offices and limited travel as needed.

Responsibilities- Review specs, drawings, and site logistics plans
- Perform on-screen take-offs for permanent and temporary scopes
- Obtain quotes from vendors for materials and services
- Support Change Management with Project Operations
- Analyze results and identify estimation improvement strategies
- Build a historical cost database by project type and geography
- Develop estimates from Concept to Construction Documents
- Prepare Clarifications and Qualifications for proposals
- Create professional take-off and supporting documentation
- Identify indirect costs and General Conditions items
- Apply unit prices and material/labor components
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Produce manpower estimates aligned with take-offs
- Establish estimating protocols for accuracy and efficiency
Key requirements- BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with 2-5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Self-perform estimating background with concrete take-offs (foundations, flat work, slab on metal deck, structural concrete)
- Knowledge of Procore software
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Team-oriented with collaboration skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Contract Documents & Specifications
