Overview As Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Teledyne Microwave Solutions, you drive sourcing strategies for high reliability microwave components used in aerospace and defense. You collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to secure continuity of supply, mitigate risks, and improve quality and delivery. You will lead supplier selection, audits, and corrective actions, enabling manufacturing teams to deliver reliable products. Responsibilities- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with cost, quality, and delivery goals
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting for assigned commodities
- Monitor and mitigate supply risks to ensure business continuity
- Assess supplier capacity and support production readiness through supplier surveys
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers per Teledyne standards
- Track supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive corrective actions
- Manage supplier corrective actions and implement preventive measures
- Conduct supplier audits for qualification and ongoing monitoring
- Act as liaison between Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve supplier issues
- Support non-conformance management and supplier investigations
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing on NPI, including supplier readiness and process validation
- Recommend supplier process and capability improvements to boost quality and efficiency
- Support strategic procurement for critical/high-risk components
- Provide reporting and analysis on supplier performance and sourcing metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with supplier quality processes including audits, corrective actions, and quality systems (preferred)
- Experience with supplier capacity planning, supplier surveys, and shortage mitigation (preferred)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements (preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with KPI tracking and reporting (preferred)
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools (preferred)
