Overview As a Senior Applied Scientist in the SIADS team, you own high-impact, end-to-end data science work from framing to production deployment. You define technical direction on ambiguous problems and translate findings into actionable recommendations for AWS Sales leadership. You will mentor colleagues, raise the scientific bar, and collaborate with customers to build trusted, scalable ML and GenAI solutions. This role combines rigorous ML with business impact in a fast-growing cloud environment.

Responsibilities- Own the full lifecycle of complex science problems: framing, data exploration, method selection, modeling, evaluation, and production deployment
- Set technical direction on ambiguous problems with design decisions
- Partner with Sales and business stakeholders to translate open-ended questions into scoped science and actionable recommendations
- Mentor and guide teammates to raise the team's scientific capabilities
- Clearly communicate methods, trade-offs, and results to technical and non-technical audiences
- Use Python, PySpark, and SQL for data analysis and model development
Key requirements- PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of ML experience for business applications
