Overview You will estimate electrical work for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects and support bid opportunities from prep through post-bid analysis. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare accurate take-offs, price supplier data, and provide estimating support to field operations. The role focuses on delivering cost-effective, well-documented proposals that align with project requirements and client expectations. Responsibilities- Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to define scope and estimate details
- Estimate electrical work for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs to verify requirements
- Perform complete take-offs for electrical scope of work
- Maintain detailed estimate documentation, including supplier pricing and historical cost data
- Support other departments with estimates in related disciplines
- Analyze design options to suggest cost-effective solutions
- Interface with clients on bid-walks and provide estimating support to field operations
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership
Key requirements- 3+ years of estimating experience with an electrical contractor
- Experience with Accubid, McCormick, or Conest estimating software
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, estimating techniques, and cost control
- Ability to interpret computerized cost data and estimating systems
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
- Stable work history
- Previous management or supervisory experience is a plus
