Overview

As HR Generalist at Ardagh Group, you will support the Plant HR Manager and leadership team in daily HR operations. You will drive and administer payroll, benefits, and HRIS activities while handling confidential employee data. You will address employee relations, compliance, and policy administration to ensure fairness and legal alignment. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to foster a positive workplace, plan plant events, and uphold safety and environmental standards. This role offers the chance to impact plant culture and workforce effectiveness at a global packaging leader.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly union hourly payroll for 250-350 employees and assist with salaried payroll adjustments
  • Administer and manage accruals and absenteeism in the timekeeping system
  • Participate in investigation and resolution of employee relations issues and initiate corrective actions
  • Administer programs per policies including EEO, Affirmative Action, and OSHA
  • Monitor adherence to policies on disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, and terminations
  • Assist in identifying and resolving HR issues
  • Support HR activities to ensure legal compliance, fairness, and consistency
  • Administer and maintain benefits program, HRIS transactions, approval forms, and employee files
  • Provide administrative support for plant leadership, handling confidential data
  • Manage inquiries on sick leave, vacations, and benefits
  • Plan and implement employee events such as service awards, salaried meetings, and annual plant activities
  • Participate on various committees as needed
  • Maintain good relationships with employees, union, and salaried workforce
  • Comply with environmental and food safety standards within the department
Key requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of HR experience
  • Experience in FMLA, benefits administration, and payroll processing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle confidential matters
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
