Overview In this role you will lead construction projects for higher education clients in Los Angeles, coordinating with clients and consultants to deliver on time and within budget. You will steer planning, governance, and quality controls while driving improvements to PM processes. This position sits at the intersection of client service and project execution, enabling you to shape outcomes on complex public sector builds. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage risk, budgets, and schedules, delivering value for the client and firm.
Responsibilities- Interfacing with clients and consultants at all project stages
- Manage project budget and financial status using project financial systems
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules
- Apply performance management techniques and monitor progress
- Oversee change control processes
- Coordinate project information through meetings and written communications
- Prepare formal budget progress and other reports
- Ensure quality standards are met and compliance is maintained
- Contribute to proposals for new work or variations
- Identify improvements to PM procedures, templates, and products
- Establish project governance, processes, and systems across projects
- Fulfill general line management responsibilities where appropriate
- Comply with SOX control responsibilities where applicable
Key requirements- Seven (7) years of PM experience on public sector projects
- Ability to travel daily to client location in Santa Barbara, CA; limited remote work
- Excellent organization, written and verbal skills
- Experience managing budgets and schedules
- Strategic advisory capability during project conception
- Strong time management and relationship-building with clients and cross-functional teams
