Overview

In this role you will lead North America Specialty reserving efforts within a global actuarial function. You will guide analysts, coordinate reserving processes, and present results to senior management, ensuring consistency with global standards. You'll drive process improvements and manage cross-functional interactions to support risk assessment and financial reporting. This is a high-visibility position focused on accurate reserves, strong controls, and impactful collaboration. You will help set industry standards through independent leadership and ongoing process enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day team activities to deliver timely North America Specialty reserve results
  • Ensure reserving approach consistency across products and alignment with global standards
  • Collaborate with North America and International reserving management to streamline processes
  • Review and report reserves to Head of Global Specialty, North America Management and others
  • Consolidate reserving results into management MI and present to senior leaders
  • Support Global Specialty Reserving lead in scheduling reserve reviews for NA Specialty products
  • Ensure controls for the reserving process and serve as point person for audits (annual, independent, internal, SOX)
  • Develop or improve processes for presenting reserving information across Global Specialty
  • Report to Head of North America Actuarial and Global Specialty Reserving Lead
  • Act as an independent lead within the GS team to promote best practices across reserving and actuarial functions
Key requirements
  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • FIA or FCAS preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial lines
  • Experience reviewing and managing reserving processes and setting reserves
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes
  • Ability to collaborate with disparate stakeholders and prioritize work
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
