Overview In this role you drive profitable growth and retention of the US Casualty treaty portfolio through disciplined underwriting, business development, and portfolio management. You underwrite new and renewal business within authority, guide team members with technical underwriting expertise, and build strong relationships with clients and intermediaries to expand market presence. You'll shape product and portfolio strategy while tackling complex opportunities and ensuring compliance with regulations. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position in a hybrid setting that offers meaningful impact and growth.

Responsibilities- Underwrite new and renewal reinsurance business within delegated authority
- Contribute to portfolio and product strategy and the portfolio business plan
- Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions for risks; manage complex underwriting opportunities
- Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations and underwriting standards
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, brokers, reinsurers, and colleagues
- Monitor market dynamics and participate in strategy meetings to share best practices
- Develop team knowledge and mentor junior members
- Support learning and development activities for area of expertise
Key requirements- Moderate relevant reinsurance experience
- 5 years relevant experience in Casualty insurance/reinsurance (preferred)
- Progression toward or receipt of CPCU, ARe, RPLU, or actuarial exams (preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office products
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
