Overview

As a Land Professional, you support land, title, and real estate activities for utility-scale energy projects across the U.S. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to align land rights with project plans, aiding acquisitions, permitting, interconnection, and construction readiness. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, due diligence, and accurate documentation to enable project progression. You'll contribute to a sustainable energy transition from Ferrovial's Austin, TX office, driving disciplined land management at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Support land, title, right-of-way, lease, easement, acquisition, and real estate activities for utility-scale energy projects from early-stage screening through construction readiness
  • Develop and execute land acquisition strategies, including site control planning, parcel analysis, and negotiations
  • Coordinate right-of-way activities for tie-lines, interconnections, access roads, and transmission infrastructure
  • Collaborate with landowners, officials, surveyors, title companies, consultants, utilities, and internal teams to align land rights with project layouts
  • Review and negotiate leases, easements, rights-of-way, amendments, and related real estate instruments
  • Support title review, title commitments, curative tracking, and boundary issue resolution
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align land rights with design, permitting, interconnection, and commercial objectives
  • Prepare land schedules, parcel matrices, trackers, and reporting materials for management and investment approvals
  • Coordinate ALTA, boundary, and title surveys; manage field investigations and survey deliverables
  • Support project acquisitions, co-development opportunities, and M&A diligence related to land and real estate
  • Monitor land, title, and regulatory trends across regions; support transition of development to financing, procurement, construction, and operations
  • Promote safety, integrity, collaboration, and landowner trust across activities
  • Travel up to 30-50% to project sites and meetings as needed
Key requirements
  • Experience in land management, real estate, energy, or related fields
  • Experience in land acquisition, site control, lease and easement negotiations, and title review
  • Experience with energy infrastructure projects and grid-connected facilities
  • Familiarity with regional differences in landowner practices, title matters, and permitting requirements
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, title descriptions, encumbrances, and curative requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate land-related trackers and documentation
