Overview As Industrial Superintendent, you will lead on-site construction and maintenance for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You'll manage crews, schedule activities, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance, while coordinating with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors. The role focuses on delivering projects on time and within budget across water treatment, pump stations, and concrete structures. You'll drive site performance, risk mitigation, and seamless handovers to operations. Responsibilities- Provide on-site supervision of construction and maintenance crews for industrial and municipal projects (water/wastewater systems, treatment plants, pump stations, concrete structures).
- Develop and manage site schedules; coordinate trades to meet milestones and minimize downtime.
- Enforce safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, ensure OSHA compliance, and lead incident investigations when needed.
- Oversee quality control, including workmanship inspection, materials verification, and testing/commissioning oversight.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors; review submittals, RFIs, and change orders with project management.
- Monitor costs, labor hours, and equipment usage; report progress and variances to project managers.
- Interpret contract documents and drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee concrete forming, placement, finishing, curing, and related procedures for durable structures.
- Supervise installation, startup, and testing of pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation (daily reports, safety logs, quality records, as-built data, handover packages).
- Provide mentorship and development support to field staff; identify skill gaps and training needs.
- Serve as primary on-site contact for clients, utility owners, and regulatory agencies during construction and commissioning.
Key requirements- 7+ years of progressive field supervision experience on industrial or municipal projects (water, wastewater, and water treatment plants).
- Proven experience managing pump stations, lift stations, industrial process plants, and concrete structures with formwork and placement oversight.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, OSHA safety regulations, confined space procedures, and environmental permitting.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Skilled in construction scheduling and project controls; proficient with Primavera P6 or MS Project and MS Office.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for coordinating crews, subcontractors, and client relations.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space Entry; relevant water/wastewater certifications are a plus.
