Overview In this role, you provide fiscal and administrative leadership for DOC's Asset Management and Central Services Unit. You will supervise unit staff, oversee annual inventories, and ensure asset accountability and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with staff, vendors, and other state agencies to support procurement and financial operations, strengthening internal controls. Responsibilities- Supervise daily unit operations and staff
- Plan, assign, and review work across inventory, procurement, AP, central services, and asset management
- Train, coach, and manage personnel activities
- Monitor compliance with statutes, policies, and internal controls; drive process improvement
- Collaborate with Fiscal Services and program staff to resolve operational issues
- Coordinate annual physical inventories at facilities statewide using Core-CT Asset Management
- Maintain asset records through lifecycle transactions and proper documentation
- Review inventory results, research discrepancies, and address exceptions
- Ensure audit-ready procurement, contract, inventory, and asset records
- Assist audits by providing documents and supporting corrective actions
- Prepare and analyze inventory and asset reports to support CO-59 reporting and efficiency improvements
Key requirements- Seven years of experience in fiscal/administrative functions (e.g., accounting, budget, payroll, purchasing) with at least one year in accounting, budgeting, or payroll at a professional level
- Experience supervising or coordinating professional/administrative staff (preferred)
- Experience with accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, and procurement
- Experience with asset management or inventory, including physical inventories
- Experience using an enterprise financial system (Core-CT/PeopleSoft or similar)
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to interpret policies and ensure compliance in a large organization
- Experience in audit preparation and compliance documentation
