Overview In this role, you lead the on-site execution of airport infrastructure projects, supporting EPC and program management. You will drive safety, quality, schedule, and cost control while coordinating with client, subcontractors, and internal teams. You'll manage multiple projects, develop plans, and ensure documentation and compliance throughout project lifecycle. This position offers hands-on field leadership with travel across the Northeast and collaboration with a national aviation team.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure successful execution of projects
- Lead planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and objective setting
- Develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate proposals and project items
- Participate in risk reviews, engage with Legal for contracts, and negotiate contracts and change orders
- Implement Project Execution Plan components (construction, QA, safety, subcontracting, staffing, procurement)
- Develop staffing plans, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and optimize staff utilization
- Manage site permits, RFPs, bids, scope development, bidder prequalification, and contract awards
- Oversee budgeting, cash flow, reporting, and presentation to management
- Coordinate engineering deliverables, contract administration, changes, and closeout
- Oversee invoicing, commissioning/startup activities, and documentation turnover
- Ensure insurance, taxes, licensures, and bonding requirements are met
- Monitor field progress, quality, safety, and schedule adherence across projects
- Develop materials management, inventory control, and procurement processes
- Support government, industry, and public communications on project matters
- Mentor interns and junior staff; provide performance feedback and develop labor relations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety programs
Key requirements- 7 years of relevant project management experience in construction (degree may be substituted by experience)
- Excellent MS Office skills; proficiency with project management software, scheduling, and cost control
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational abilities
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Aviation construction experience preferred; GAAP understanding
- Ability to meet driving requirements; willing to travel
