Overview

In this role you oversee contracts risk across the project lifecycle, safeguarding assets and ensuring regulatory compliance. You lead contracts administration, guide risk mitigation, and align contract practices with project goals. You will work with project teams, legal, and procurement to manage risk, negotiate terms, and implement templates and policies. This position offers impact on safety, financial performance, and contract governance within a long-standing construction company. You will drive structured risk management and leverage collaborative leadership to protect the business and support project success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead contracts administration and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Identify and mitigate risks across plans, site conditions, and industry trends
  • Review subcontracts and purchase orders to optimize risk transfer and allocations; negotiate terms
  • Develop risk management policies, train staff, and communicate risk strategies
  • Create and maintain contract templates and deviations from standard terms
  • Collaborate with project managers, legal, HR, procurement, and subcontractors on risk alignment
  • Oversee internal processes for drafting, negotiating, enforcing and document control of contractual documents
  • Manage and mentor contract administration staff (two or more)
  • Promote safety policies and company Code of Conduct
  • Advise on best practices for contract risk mitigation and master agreements with regular subcontractors and vendors
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field
  • 10 years of experience in the construction industry
  • NCMA CPCM or equivalent certifications
  • Minimum 5 years in construction risk management
  • 3 years of supervisory experience with personnel actions
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for risk modeling and data interpretation
  • Understanding of contract life cycle, contract types, and government regulations
  • Contract and insurance expertise in construction
  • Expert level negotiation skills
  • Project management and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize risks and make decisions under uncertainty
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance, and corporate governance
  • Experience with AI-supported contract review and redlining tools
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • OSHA 10 Construction Certification or ability to obtain during pre-employment
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and fitness for duty exam
